1 Corinthians 6:20
“You were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.â€
I would like to include the meaning of glorify: It is to manifest the hidden excellence and worth of a person or object. As I am studying the many ways we can glorify Christ, my first thought was our expression of our love for Him. However, the above Scripture speaks of “in our body.â€Â Well…. our body language can either glorify God or dishonor Him. This is one of the many reasons we are to allow the Holy Spirit control to guard against this.
When Jesus ascended into heaven and was glorified, He entered into the perfect spirit-life of the heavenly world. Scripture tells us that all the angels worshipped Jesus as the Lamb on the Throne. Our human minds cannot absorb all of this, but one day God will make it very clear to us. This is our belief and hope in Christ Jesus!
We each have different personalities, all especially created for us by God. We act and react to circumstances differently but they all can be for the glorification of Christ. Just our countenance can glorify Him! It is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit within us that does the glorifying, it is His work, we just need to let that “Flow of the Living Water†come forth and it will glorify Jesus to everyone we come in contact with.
So let’s endeavor by the power of the Holy Spirit within us to glorify Christ wherever He leads us and in whatever manner He chooses, our lives will be truly blessed, He promises!
“who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.â€
