TURN ON THE LIGHT AND STAND FAST

Life can get complicated.  Sometimes it seems to get out of control.  Problems at work, financial difficulties, health problems, concern for family members……we feel there is little or nothing we can do to solve the problems.

Psalm 119: 105: “Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”  God is waiting and wanting to show you what to do and where to go.

One way to get direction is to stay in God’s Word daily.  Perhaps, we’ll see a complete solution to a situation that we thought had no answer.  Maybe, we’ll only see the next step for our feet to take.  His Word, if we obey it, will keep us on the right path even if that means we just simply go through the problem.

God’s Word can help us even when the difficulty is one we must live through.  James 1:5 tells us to ask God for wisdom if we lack it.  This wisdom to endure the situation could be God’s will for us at this time.

Perhaps, our trials are a result of our faith in and walk with Christ.  Read I Peter 4:13-19, for the perspective we must have.  You’ll find that we are to rejoice!  Yes, this is contrary to the normal human reaction.  Peter’s word from God tells us how we should and can respond to these fiery trials. God doesn’t always remove our troubles and trials.  When we rejoice in Him and keep our eyes on Him, He will strengthen and comfort us.  Praise Him always and He will bring you through the trials.

Remember Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Bill Gaither wrote these words:

When you’re up against a struggle, that shatters all your dreams,  And your hopes have been cruelly crushed by Satan’s manifested schemes,  And you feel the urge within you to submit to earthly fear,  Don’t let the faith you’re standing in seem to disappear.

Praise the Lord, He will work through those who praise Him

Praise the Lord, for our God inhabits praise

Praise the Lord, for the chains that bind you

Serve only to remind you, that they drop powerless behind you

When you praise Him.
