I do not like change! I am a real “stick- in- the- mudâ€. I fear anything that takes me out of my comfort zone.
And yet, change happens constantly. We cannot live our life without any change. Change can be good or bad or neutral. But, it will happen! As long as we are alive, we will be changing in response to situations that happen in our environment or in our physical bodies or in our family.
Perhaps, the biggest and most positive change occurs when we become a “new creation†in Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.â€Â I have heard the saying, “If you do what you’ve always done; you’ll get what you’ve always gotâ€. You can’t stay in the mud pit of sin and expect to be clean. Jesus will cleanse you and make you white as snow; but only if you accept Him as Savior. This is the biggest and best change that can occur in our lives.
Change (good, bad, or indifferent) will happen. I am amazed and appalled by the changes that have occurred in our country and culture the last few years. I don’t think anything good has happened from these changes.
I take comfort in Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and foreverâ€. No matter what happens in my life or in the world; He is always with me and His love never changes. He is my rock and my salvation. He is the anchor of my soul. I don’t know about tomorrow, but I know who holds tomorrow and I know who holds my hand!
