“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.â€
         Here is our assurance that through each of the valley’s we go through, our Shepherd Jesus, is right beside us to guide, protect and lead us through it! So often we despair and lose sight of His presence, and our faith begins to wane and hope diminishes. The Holy Spirit comes to remind us that it is in the power of the life of Jesus through His Spirit that will sustain us through the pain and sorrow we are experiencing.
         It has been through these times that I have learned to ask, Jesus what is it I am to learn in this valley? When our hearts are yielded and open to hear, He will help us to understand and we accept His wisdom and direction and His intended growth takes place. Without these valley’s we become dormant and of no value to the Kingdom of God!Â
As we see and acknowledge this growth, a thirst will fill our hearts to trust Jesus more and to know that whatever He allows in our lives is for our good and ultimately for His purpose and glory to the Father! It has been very difficult for me through the many valley’s but when Jesus takes us through the valley to the mountain top and we see from where we have come, oh, the joy that fills our hearts and praises to our God springs forth as living water to satisfy our thirst! I must conclude with the rest of this Psalm:Â
“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
   Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
