“If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will Flow Rivers of living water.â€
We spoke previously about the living water, how sweet and full and deep it is. This is speaking about the Holy Spirit that dwells within us and when allowed the freedom, the flow will come forth from us as streams of living water from the presence of His Spirit within. As it is allowed to flow through us, it will touch the hearts and lives of those that we come in contact with. It is not our work, but the working of the Holy Spirit.
As I have found through study the well is so very deep and profound that without the wisdom of God we cannot begin to comprehend it, but as we ask for wisdom He will help us to understand why it is so important to be filled with the Holy Spirit, the well of all our knowledge, strength and power to live the Christian life in His fullness.
Sometimes through the lack of knowledge or perhaps the unwillingness to yield to the Holy Spirit, He can be inactive. Our will must be given over to Him before He can or will work out His plan and purpose through us. There is an awesome work to be done in each of us. There is the work of sanctification, righteousness, cleansing and much more that must be done, and we are incapable in and of ourselves to accomplish any of this!Â
Oh, there is so very much to learn and growth comes so slowly it seems but when God places this thirst in our hearts we cannot be satisfied, we must continue to persevere. I have only scratched the surface, but my desire to learn more and more of the very goodness of God increases daily. So please bear with me as I try to share what God has placed in my heart.
I leave with you the key to the Door: Matthew 6:33. “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.â€
