Wow! It is 2015!  Remember the panic of Y2K?  That was 15 years ago.  And, nothing bad happened. I wonder if anything good has happened.  The question I ask myself is: “Am I making progress in my walk with the Lord?”

Do you make New Year’s Resolutions?  Do you keep them?  I don’t formally make resolutions.  However, in each new year, I want to be closer to my Savior than the year before.  As another year begins, I endeavor to examine my life to see how far I have come in my Spiritual walk.

It occurs to me that we should do that self-examination every day, not just at the beginning of a new year.  “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not.  They are new every morning;  Great is Your faithfulness.”  Lamentations 3:22-23.  God doesn’t bless us just once a year.  He is faithful every day!

I resolve to daily commit my life to God.  It is my prayer that I will say with David: “Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties;  And see if there is any wicked way in me and lead me in the way everlasting.”

Are you further down the road, spiritually, than you were last year?
