Luke 17:6    And the Lord said, “If you had faith like a mustard seed, you would say to this mulberry ‘Be uprooted and be planted in the sea’; and it would obey you.
John 15:7   “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
Acts 1:8Â Â Â Â Â Â Â but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”
1 Corinthians 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?
I know I have power, but it is power from the Lord, I really have no power of my own. I have been blessed with answers to prayer that truly amazes me, but I have never experienced anything like what Jesus describes above. I have been blessed with some unbelievable miracles in my life that were not brought on by prayer, unless it was the Holy Spirit praying for me, or. God’s ministering Spirits watching over me. Maybe I am wise enough to know that what I pray for must be the will of God. I think this is the real message of Jesus. The more I abide in Him, and the more His word abides in me, the more I will recognize what God’s will is when I pray. If I pray in His will anything is possible. I don’t think God is interested in my faith uprooting a tree and casting it into the sea, but if He was, it would be easy for Him, but impossible for me.
I think the kind of faith Jesus defines is based on Love of God, trust in Him and surrender to His will. Jesus’s final prayer before the cross was “My Father, if this cannot pass away unless I drink it, Your will be done.” Matthew 26:42. Jesus surrendered to the will of God, to the point of death.
Lord, I pray I will always surrender to your will in any and all ways you desire.
