Matthew 6:6Â “But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.

1Thesolonians 5:17Â pray without ceasing;
As the sales manager for the company, I spent a lot of time behind the windshield of an automobile for many reasons. This was perfect for this time in my spiritual journey, because as I spent more time with other Christians showing me an example of a good Christian walk, I began to desire more time in prayer. The automobile was a perfect opportunity for this. I spent many hours on the road talking to my Lord. Some asked me how I could see praying and driving, well I have a secret for you, you don’t have to close your eyes to pray. When I had to spend time in the office or around town I had less time to pray. Then I discovered I could pray not only with my eyes open but in the middle of a meeting, sales presentations, conducting sales meetings, nothing could hinder me, etc. If I really wanted to pray.
Not only was my automobile a great place to pray, but it also was a good place to work on verse memorization. The verse I was working on was put in a place where I could see it, most of the time I held it in my hand. I was careful and made sure there was no danger in what I was doing. Reading scripture and verse memorization goes very well with prayer. I found then and still do that when I read scripture before and during prayer, I feel the Spirit’s presence in helping me pray in God’s will. I sometimes pray without scripture and sometimes read scripture without praying, but when done together I get more blessings from my prayer time.
Why pray? Best reason I can think of is because Jesus did. What if we don’t know how to pray? Don’t worry about it, the Holy Spirit intercedes for us.
Luke 5:16 But Jesus Himself would often slip away to the wilderness and pray.
Romans 8:26 In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words;
