Genesis 3:3-4Â but from the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat from it or touch it, or you will die.'” The serpent said to the woman, “You surely will not die!
Genesis 3:13Â Then the LORD God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” And the woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”
Romans 3:23Â for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.
1 John 1:9-10: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.
I have been blessed by the gift from God of free will, and had been cursed by my wrong use of His gift. Just like the whole universe, including man was cursed by the disobedience (sin) of Eve and Adam. But God in His infinite love of me, gave me an escape from His curse. All I have to do is believe Him, love Him, trust Him, and do what he says (obedience.) The Word of God is full of love instructions from Him. I just need to study it, and do it. Sounds easy doesn’t it? It isn’t but God’s Holy Spirit helps me. In the beginning of my spiritual life with Him, I needed to confess my sins, and repent (turn away from my sinful ways.) I thought that was the end of that, but I discovered I was still a sinner. Along the way I found 1 John 1:8 and tried to wear that verse out, but of course I didn’t, and am blessed because I couldn’t. Being confronted by the Holy Spirit of my sinfulness, I would become depressed because I could not always control them. Like Eve, I could deceive myself about my lack of sin, or if what I wanted to do was a sin or not, and I had help from you know who? God came to my aid and through my study of His Word and help from other brothers in Christ, He showed me I wasn’t alone in my concern. His Word is full of great men of God that sinned, even while following Him. Somewhere David, Moses, Abraham, Joseph, and others, but the one that helped me the most was the writing of the great evangelist, Paul (Saul of Tarsus). I encourage you to read what he says in Romans 7:15-25. I was convinced that even if I slipped off the righteous wagon every now and then, I am not condemned. Thank you Lord for dying for my sin.
Lord, I am so blessed to know You did not expect me to be perfect in my life in the flesh, and have provided a way for me to
Romans 8:1Â Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
