Romans 1:19-20Â Â because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.
Hebrews 11:6Â Â And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
2 Timothy 3:16Â Â All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;
John 6:44Â Â “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day.
Galatians 3:22Â Â But the Scripture has shut up everyone under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
Before I humbled myself to Jesus, I knew almost nothing about the Bible except people called it the word of God. How could I have faith in God when I never read the Bible. As I grew in Jesus, I got into His Word, learned many things, and changed in many ways. Before Moses was inspired by the Holy Spirit to write the first five books of the Bible, men like Abraham, Job and others were considered righteous. Even after Jacob was named Israel by God, and Jacob’s descendants became the nation of Israel, the Word of God was not written. I don’t know when Moses wrote the first five books of the Old Testament, but it had to be before the Israelites crossed the Jordan river into the promised land. How did men come to faith without the Word? I don’t know about them, but the word in Romans tells me I had no excuse, to not believe in God. Thanks to God, I now have His written word, and can dig deeply into it whenever I please, what a blessing. I now know by what Jesus said that I must have been drawn by God, because that is the only way I could have come to Jesus. I also know by the Bible that faith is a gift of God to those who believe, before or after the written word. How exciting to know I will be raised up by Jesus on the last day, right along with Abraham, Job, and all other people of faith in God.
Thank you Jesus, it might take the rest of my life to count all the reasons I need to thank you.
