“And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.”

John 6:35

Oh, this is a very personal question, but one we must all ask ourselves, do we truly have a heart for Jesus? Is our time each day with Him a priority, or does it come when convenient? This takes a sincere soul searching of our hearts and it does not come easy!  What do we say nonchalantly so often, ‘an honest confession is good for the soul’?

It isn’t answered until we dig deep within our hearts, for so often our sin is hidden deep within and is not seen until the Holy Spirit convicts us and puts it in the light so we can see, and oh, does it hurt, but it does draw us unto Himself with confession and repentance.

I am finding as I study God’s Word that if we ask for a hunger and thirst He will fill our hearts so much so that we cannot satisfy this thirst.  The effect of this hunger and thirst will draw us into His presence and the Holy Spirit will give us wisdom as to where to find the knowledge to satisfy our longing for Jesus. I believe this is how we come to “KNOW THE HEART OF JESUS” and how does this happen? It is through an intimate relationship, through time and sincerity of heart.

Are we thirsty? Jesus will more than satisfy our thirst:  Psalm 107:9  “for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.”  I am also reminded of this verse in: Luke 11:9, “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”

We find the food to satisfy our hunger and thirst in the Holy Scriptures, the search is so exciting!! The Holy Spirit is teaching me a great lesson, there is only one way to get to the ‘Summit’ and it is through hunger and thirst after righteousness, Obedience to the Commands of Jesus as spoken to us by the Holy Spirit and much prayer and thanksgiving!! Be blessed on your journey!

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.”

Matthew 5:6
