Text: For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. (Matthew 18:20)

Tweet: This verse was once embodied in a well-known axiom of the early Church Fathers: “Where three are, there is a church.” Contrary to popular belief today, the strength of a church gathering is not to be measured numerically, but spiritually. Since this verse, as the previous verse shows, is speaking of covenant prayer—two Christians praying together for God’s revealed will to them to be fulfilled—it follows that prayer meetings must be held, just as all prayers must be offered, in Jesus name!
