New converts cannot be expected to be skilled in the Scripture. Instead, they must begin their spiritual life by being bottle-fed the Bible. As the Apostle Peter teaches in 1 Peter 2:2, their “desire” for the pure “milk of the word” will eventually result in their spiritual growth and maturity. Once they grow up and mature, they are weaned from the bottle and can begin enjoying the solid food of the Scripture—the Bible’s sound doctrines and profound truths.
