Although I have not done the subject of Bible translations justice, nor would my addressing of this important topic pass for a serious scholarly consideration of it, I sincerely hope I have helped clear up some of the confusion surrounding modern-day translations. In addition, I hope I have dispelled some of the popular myths about modern-day translations as well.

We’ll close our consideration of Bible translations with an insightful, but disturbing observation. According to C. S. Lewis, it is “odd” that “the less the Bible is read the more it is translated.” Truly, there are more translations of the Bible today than ever, but fewer Bible readers.
