Having followed our treatment of the important subjects of revelation, illumination and inspiration with an emphasis upon the importance; indeed, the necessity, of the doctrine of biblical inerrancy, we now turn our attention in today’s devotion to the mountain of evidence that proves the Bible’s claim to be the divinely inspired and inerrant Word of God.
Contrary to popular opinion, to believe the Bible’s claim about itself does not require you to screw out your brain and throw it away. It doesn’t demand a blind leap of faith into the illogical and unbelievable. Instead, to believe the Bible’s claim is made both reasonable and believable by a mountain of corroborating evidence. Over the next few days we will look at the evidence for the Bible’s reliability.
