John 14:6 (KJV)
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Jesus in answering his disciple Thomas makes some of the most profound statements found in the Bible. In this short verse Jesus proves his deity, explains what he is, and how to come to God.
The use of I am for the name of God goes all the way back to Moses and the burning bush. When Moses ask God who shall I sent me he is told to say. God said I am that I am tell them I am sent you. Jesus himself used this phrase throughout the New Testament to prove his deity to his disciples and to all who would read these verses.
So once again Jesus proved that he was God incarnate. We need to never forget Jesus was as much man as he was God.
Dear Lord: Thank you for becoming a man in the man Christ Jesus. The great I am coming here so I could be saved to spend all eternity in heaven with you. Give me the opportunity to tell others these great lessons and explain exactly who the great I am is, so others may join me.
I Jesus name I pray amen.
