Linda Lucas has submitted her favorite verse today.
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
According to the notes in The New Spirit Filled Life Bible, it says that it’s often overlooked that the words are being spoken to people being punished by God. He does indeed punish His people in order to restore them to a proper relationship with Him. This verse spoke to me because I haven’t always walked in the way I should. I chose a different path for many years and because of it, I went through much sadness and agony, knowing all along that I was not in God’s will. There was much repentance, and, thank God, forgiveness from the Lord. This verse is a comfort to me that God loves us even when we don’t love ourselves. It’s purely amazing that He opens His arms of love and offers us a future and a hope when we come back to Him.
