Today Ann Swinford shares with us:
Proverbs 15:1 “A soft answer turneth away wrath; but grievous words stir up anger.”
For many of my growing up years I had a quick temper. My mother was concerned that nothing good would come from the outbursts of anger. This seems so foreign to me now, but I clearly remember both my parents and my grandparents praying me through those tough teenage years. This Bible verse was recalled often. This verse has served me well through my young adult years, marriage and raising three children. I find that when I am angry, it’s far better to recall this wise verse than to take Thomas Jefferson’s advice and count to ten.
(Good advice for all of us.)
