Tom Harris shares his testimony today.
One of my favorite Bible verses is Psalms 115:4-7
“Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands. They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not: They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not: They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.’
I see myself as one of these stone statues most of my life. I was born and raised a very strict Catholic, and I always said in my own defense that I was born a Catholic and I would die a Catholic. I had knelt down to worship and pray and even lit votive candles to these stone gods in my life. I was just like them, DEAD. I would attend church services every Sunday. I went to church empty and I went home empty. There was nothing in my life, past, present or in the future. I was a real disaster. Then I met and married Tanya, my wife, who was a Christian. She had never pressured me into becoming a Christian. Now that I think back, she did plant the seed and watered it. Then I met Pastor James May and Pastor Don Walton. They both fertilized the seed that was planted. Then Jesus knocked on the door of my heart and I invited Him to come into my life. I was engulfed by the Holy Spirit. I gave my life, all of me, to Jesus and asked Him to forgive me of all my sins. What a glorious day!
(Wow! What a testimony. Do we live Jesus?)
