“Favorite Verses”

Husband and wife team today.  Judy Hilton shares with us her favorite Bible verse:

“In everything you do, put GOD first, and He will direct you and crown your efforts with success.”  Proverbs 3:6 (TLB)

This is my favorite verse because of the wisdom it gives.  It’s as simple as asking yourself “what would Jesus do?”  This applies in any and all situations of our lives.

I gave this verse to each of my grandchildren as they graduated from high school.

Bobby Hilton Sr. reminds us of his favorite passage in James.

“Go to now, ye that say, Today or tomorrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:  Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow.  For what is your life?  It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.  For that ye ought to say, If the LORD will, we shall live, and do this, or that.  But now ye rejoice in your boastings:  all such rejoicing is evil.”  James 4:13-16

The whole book of James to me is a lesson on how to live my life, to control my tongue, to be kind and to seek GOD’s will.  These verses remind me not to be prideful and to not brag or be jealous or selfish.
