Matthew 28:19Â Â “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
Mark 10:32  They were on the road going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking on ahead of them; and they were amazed, and those who followed were fearful. And again He took the twelve aside and began to tell them what was going to happen to Him,
Luke 9:57  As they were going along the road, someone said to Him, “I will follow You wherever You go.”
Luke 24:32  They said to one another, “Were not our hearts burning within us while He was speaking to us on the road, while He was explaining the Scriptures to us?”
Jesus tells me to go and make disciples, does He describe exactly where to go? no, but His example does. Jesus taught at some synagogues, but most accounts of Jesus found Him, along the roads, fields, homes, boats, gardens, grave yard, and I am sure some other places. He didn’t chase people down, He just went, and instructed me to do the same. When I first returned to the Lord it was easier to just go than I experienced later. I found myself following other members of the congregation in well meaning, but sometimes misguided church business, culture and traditions. I found myself slowly drifting away from reaching out, and became more involved with all the inside the walls goings on. Not to say all the inside the church stuff is bad, but my experience with the Lord has led me to believe I am more effective for Him mentoring, facilitating one on one, and small group Bible studies, wherever He sends me. When I know what God wants me to do I just need to do it wherever that is. In 1 Corinthians Paul teaches us that we are all parts of the body of Christ, and are needed in the areas we are gifted in by God. God bless all those that are involved in the organization and function of the church, it would be a mess without them. But I eventually learned I did not need to know what my gift or gifts were, I just needed to do whatever God called me to do, and God would provide me with whatever gifts I needed to do the job.
In Acts 8:26-8:40 An Angel of the Lord sent Philip south to the road that descends from Jerusalem to Gaza. He discovered an Ethiopian eunuch reading Isaiah and not understanding it, he invited Philip to sit with him. Then Philip beginning from Isaiah, he preached Jesus to him. The eunuch came to believe in Jesus, and asked to be baptized. When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away; and the eunuch no longer saw him, but went on his way rejoicing. Philip found himself at Azotus, and as he passed through, he kept preaching the gospel to all the cities until he came to Caesarea. The evangelist Phillip just kept on keeping on, as directed by the Spirit of God.
Lord, I pray I will continue to go where you take, or send me. Please send people to me I that may speak to for you.
