A Mystery, Christ in Me

Colossians 1:27 – to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

1Corinthians 2:12 – Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God,

1Corinthians 3:16 – Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

NASB Translation

No longer a mystery but a true miracle of God, and beyond my understanding as to why the creator of the universe, my Lord and Savior would bless me with His Holy Spirit to dwell in me. Why did He give me the honor of being His temple? Who am I to deserve this blessing, a nobody, a sinner? Well, I do not deserve it at all, only because of Jesus am I able to live this reality. He is the one who died for me and made me righteous in God’s sight through Jesus. What should this mean? If I am truly a child of His, people should recognize   something different in me. I should reflect to some extent Jesus Himself. As a sinner I cannot be exactly like Jesus, no one can. As I grow in Him this reflection of Jesus should become more and more obvious. But If I am not demonstrating enough of Jesus to make a difference to those in His church, and around those I come in contact with, I need to take a long hard look as to whether or not I am truly committed and submissive to Him. If I truly believe what His word says how could I ignore what He tells me to do in it?
