Deuteronomy 4:29: “But from there you will seek the Lord your God and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.â€
God doesn’t play “hard to getâ€. In I Peter 3:9, we are told that, “the Lord is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentanceâ€. God is waiting for all to come to Him in repentance and receive a new heart.
However, God will not wait forever. His Word tells us that “Now is the day of salvationâ€. ( II Corinthians 6:2.) There is much danger in waiting to repent and receive your new heart. God has our days numbered and we don’t know how much time we have to repent. God is patient; however, He won’t wait forever for us to accept Jesus and receive a new heart from Him. Isaiah 55:6 exhorts us to “Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is nearâ€.
When someone needs a new physical heart, they are placed on a waiting list. Someone has to die in order for a new heart to be available. Jesus has already died for us and He is just waiting for us to ask Him to give us a new heart and to “renew a right spirit within usâ€. He is doing the waiting. All we have to do is ask Him to make us a new creation. God is waiting to be found, we need to seek Him.
GIVE ME THY HEART, SAYS THE FATHER ABOVE. NO GIFT SO PRECIOUS TO HIM AS OUR LOVE.
SOFTLY HE WHISPERS, WHEREVER THOU ART, “GRATEFULLY TRUST ME, AND GIVE ME THY HEART.
“GIVE ME THY HEART, GIVE ME THY HEART.†HEAR THE SOFT WHISPER, WHEREVER THOU ART.
FROM THIS DARK WORLD HE WOULD DRAW THEE APART, SPEAKING SO TENDERLY, “GIVE ME THY HEART.â€
