Hosea

Hosea 5:1-7 (KJV)
1 Hear ye this, O priests; and hearken, ye house of Israel; and give ye ear, O house of the king; for judgment is toward you, because ye have been a snare on Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor.
2 And the revolters are profound to make slaughter, though I have been a rebuker of them all.
3 I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me: for now, O Ephraim, thou committest whoredom, and Israel is defiled.
4 They will not frame their doings to turn unto their God: for the spirit of whoredoms is in the midst of them, and they have not known the LORD.
5 And the pride of Israel doth testify to his face: therefore shall Israel and Ephraim fall in their iniquity; Judah also shall fall with them.
6 They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek the LORD; but they shall not find him; he hath withdrawn himself from them.
7 They have dealt treacherously against the LORD: for they have begotten strange children: now shall a month devour them with their portions.

The eye of the lord is all seeing. The lord could see what the house of Israel was doing and knew the house of Judah would follow them. The house of Judah still sought after their lord but not with their hearts and soul but with their flocks and herds. They paid lip service with their tithes but they did not truly worship God. So in the end the Babylonians would carry off the people of Judah the same as the Assyrians carried off the Israelites.

The so called Christian church today and the cults that claim to follow Jesus will also be destroyed as were the people of God in Hosea’s day. Unfortunately the true church, the true bride of Christ, will also suffer for some will only pay lip service and not truly worship the one true God. For it is written “The rain will fall on the just and the unjust.” So be prepared for trials and tribulation.

Dear Lord: I know I will not be spared from the refiner’s fire. I know each of that I must go through the trials and tribulation to become a stronger person. Lord it is only through you I can find the wisdom, courage, and strength to complete the task you have placed before me. Please give me these things so I can finish the race and one hear you say “well done my fine and noble servant.”

In Jesus Name I pray amen.
