“WALK IN TRUTH”

3 John 4 “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.”  John wrote this to Gaius, his beloved friend.  He was so thrilled to hear that Gaius walked in truth.  His life was honest before God and others.  He spoke of his charity to the brethren and to strangers.  It seems to tell us that he was a man who walked the same before all people.  He did not have two standards but walked in truth among all people and situations.  He was faithful and could be counted on to help all who needed it.  What a testimony this man must have been to all.  One you could trust.  Surely he has learned to be single minded in his life style.  He was a truthful and honest man.  God says that a double minded man is unstable in all his ways.  So, if we walk in truth we can have a good testimony for God and His Word.

Amy Carmichael wrote in her little book “IF”, “If something I am asked to do for another feels burdensome; if, yielding to an inward unwillingness, I avoid doing it, than I know nothing of Calvary love.”

Gaius walked in truth and helped others.  He walked in truth without double standards no matter where he was.  He walked in truth and thus became a joy to the heart of GOD.
