“WALK IN A DISORDERLY MANNER”

2Thessalonians 3:11 “For we hear that there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are busybodies.”  Another way to put this is that they were walking irresponsibly.  They were not working but interfering with others who were working.  This is written to the church at Thessalonica.  These were Christians who were to be busy working in the church for the Lord.  But they were being very irresponsible and causing others to stumble.  They were not a help at all.  One translation calls them “busybodies”.  Very concerned with what others were doing and the latest news but not working themselves.  The work in the church is by volunteer.  We volunteer to do what we can to help the ministry, to help spread the Gospel and to help others in their ministry.  There is no place for busybodies.  No place for lazy Christians.  Since we are all members of the body of Christ, we need every member to function in a proper way.  When one is not working, it causes hurt for the rest of the body.  Just like our bodies function needing all parts or else we are in pain and not able to accomplish what we need to do.  So, we Christians need to walk in an orderly fashion serving where God puts us.  Did you ever wonder what the church would be like if every member were serving?  If every Christian were committed and dedicated to the service of our Lord, would we see more wanting to know about this wonderful Jesus who can change a life.
