Psalm 23
King James Version (KJV)
23Â The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2Â He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3Â He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4Â Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5Â Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6Â Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
Psalm 26
26Â Judge me, O Lord; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the Lord; therefore I shall not slide.
2Â Examine me, O Lord, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.
3Â For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in thy truth.
4Â I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with dissemblers.
5Â I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked.
6Â I will wash mine hands in innocency: so will I compass thine altar, O Lord:
7Â That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works.
8Â Lord, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth.
9Â Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloody men:
10Â In whose hands is mischief, and their right hand is full of bribes.
11Â But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me.
12Â My foot standeth in an even place: in the congregations will I bless the Lord.
Psalm 28
28Â Unto thee will I cry, O Lord my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.
2Â Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle.
3Â Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts.
4Â Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert.
5Â Because they regard not the works of the Lord, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up.
6Â Blessed be the Lord, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications.
7Â The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.
8Â The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed.
9Â Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever.
Psalm 31
31Â In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.
2Â Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me.
3Â For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name’s sake lead me, and guide me.
4Â Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: for thou art my strength.
5Â Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O Lord God of truth.
6Â I have hated them that regard lying vanities: but I trust in the Lord.
7Â I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities;
8Â And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: thou hast set my feet in a large room.
9Â Have mercy upon me, O Lord, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly.
10Â For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength faileth because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed.
11Â I was a reproach among all mine enemies, but especially among my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance: they that did see me without fled from me.
12Â I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel.
13Â For I have heard the slander of many: fear was on every side: while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life.
14Â But I trusted in thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my God.
15Â My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.
16Â Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: save me for thy mercies’ sake.
17Â Let me not be ashamed, O Lord; for I have called upon thee: let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave.
18Â Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.
19Â Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!
20Â Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.
21Â Blessed be the Lord: for he hath shewed me his marvellous kindness in a strong city.
22Â For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes: nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications when I cried unto thee.
23Â O love the Lord, all ye his saints: for the Lord preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.
24Â Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord.
Psalm 35
35Â Plead my cause, O Lord, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me.
2Â Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help.
3Â Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation.
4Â Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt.
5Â Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the Lord chase them.
6Â Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the Lord persecute them.
7Â For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have digged for my soul.
8Â Let destruction come upon him at unawares; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall.
9Â And my soul shall be joyful in the Lord: it shall rejoice in his salvation.
10Â All my bones shall say, Lord, who is like unto thee, which deliverest the poor from him that is too strong for him, yea, the poor and the needy from him that spoileth him?
11Â False witnesses did rise up; they laid to my charge things that I knew not.
12Â They rewarded me evil for good to the spoiling of my soul.
13Â But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom.
14Â I behaved myself as though he had been my friend or brother: I bowed down heavily, as one that mourneth for his mother.
15Â But in mine adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together: yea, the abjects gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not; they did tear me, and ceased not:
16Â With hypocritical mockers in feasts, they gnashed upon me with their teeth.
17Â Lord, how long wilt thou look on? rescue my soul from their destructions, my darling from the lions.
18Â I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people.
19Â Let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully rejoice over me: neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause.
20Â For they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful matters against them that are quiet in the land.
21Â Yea, they opened their mouth wide against me, and said, Aha, aha, our eye hath seen it.
22Â This thou hast seen, O Lord: keep not silence: O Lord, be not far from me.
23Â Stir up thyself, and awake to my judgment, even unto my cause, my God and my Lord.
24Â Judge me, O Lord my God, according to thy righteousness; and let them not rejoice over me.
25Â Let them not say in their hearts, Ah, so would we have it: let them not say, We have swallowed him up.
26Â Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at mine hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify themselves against me.
27Â Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.
28Â And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long.
