Trust God

Proverbs 3:5 -6. Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.

Jeremiah 17:7-8. “Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD And whose trust is the LORD. “For he will be like a tree planted by the water, That extends its roots by a stream And will not fear when the heat comes; But its leaves will be green, And it will not be anxious in a year of drought Nor cease to yield fruit.

Nahum 1:7  The LORD is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble, And He knows those who take refuge in Him.

Numbers 23:19  “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent; Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

Psalm 27:14  Wait for the LORD; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the LORD.

In making decisions, I have at times made a positives and negatives or pro con list . When I think about the positives versus the negatives in  relation to deciding whether or not to trust God, myself, or something else, there is no contest. God wins hands down. Unfortunately  I haven’t always paid as much attention to His truths, or asked for His help in all my decision making. When I compare myself to God, the God side goes something like this. He has always existed, He is infinite, God made everything, He knows everything, He is present everywhere, He is all powerful, He sees the past, present, and future at the same time. He can do anything, keeps His promises, all of His prophecies come true, He never makes a mistake. He is just, He is Holy, and never sins in any way. He also loves all His creatures, of which I am one. This is all the attributes I can think of now, but there are more. I am not going to show you my list at this time because in comparison to God, I am nothing. Compared to God I cannot trust myself, anything, or anyone else. If you have read my February Devotionals to this point you can know, or at least know most of what my list would look like. It would be humbling for me. But that is what God wants me to be. He wants me to love, submit, trust, and obey Him. As a popular song goes, where can I go but the Lord? The bible tells me I am a fool if my Choice of trust isn’t You.

Lord, You know how much I need your daily help, to stay focused on You, to keep Jesus the center of my life, and to keep my trust in You.

Proverbs 28:26  He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, But he who walks wisely will be delivered.
