Proverbs 17:17 A friend loves at all times, And a brother is born for adversity.

Proverbs 27:17 Iron sharpens iron, So one man sharpens another.

There was no more true friend than Jonathan was to David. Jonathan was the oldest son of King Saul. First in line for the inheritance of wealth and power. He and David loved each other and made a covenant between them. Jonathan supported and protected David from king Saul to the extent of possibility losing his own life. Jonathan was a great warrior as was David. David trusted him in every way, even with his own life. Jonathan trusted David the same way and would do whatever David asked. Jonathan knew David was anointed King by God and respected him as such, even though his Father was still king. Nathan a profit, was willing to confront David with his sin with Bathsheba, and murder of her husband, at the risk of losing his life if he angered the king. By this he proved he was a friend of God and David. His action convicted David and turned his heart back to God. A true friend, if it is for my good, is willing to tell me the truth, and if it can help put me back on track with the Lord. I have been blessed over the years by having friends sharpen me, and I hope I helped sharpen them. With a true friend I do not have to worry about them talking behind my back. They love me unconditionally, and listen to my problems without passing them on. This is the kind of friend I want to be with any one God brings to me, If you have true friends you know how valuable they are. One or two in a lifetime is a great blessing, I have had several times that, thank you Lord.

Best way to have good friends? Be one!

John 15:13  “Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.

Lord, I pray that my Love for is great enough that whatever you ask. I will do, even to the point of death.
