Hebrews 24-25 and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
2 Thessalonians 2:16-17. Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope by grace, comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good work and word.
Proverbs 12:25. Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, But a good word makes it glad.
Romans 1:12 that is, that I may be encouraged together with you while among you, each of us by the other’s faith, both yours and mine.
Acts 14:19-22. But Jews came from Antioch and Iconium, and having won over the crowds, they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing him to be dead. But while the disciples stood around him, he got up and entered the city. The next day he went away with Barnabas to Derbe. After they had preached the gospel to that city and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra and to Iconium and to Antioch, strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying, “Through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.”
I am encouraged in many ways, one of them was reading and thinking about the verses above. I am encouraged almost every time I meet with a brother in Christ, and most of the time I find a way to encourage him. Right now I meet with at least two men every week and sometimes three. Every Saturday I am involved in a men’s bible study, and prayer meeting with 8-12 men, what a blessing that is. Of course the greatest encouragement for me is that provided by my lord and Savior Jesus. How am I encouraged? , by the way he blesses me every day, the salvation he has provided for me, and the eternity I will spend with Him, how could I not be encouraged? If I had been with Paul when he was left for dead, and then got up and continued his ministry as though nothing happened, would really encourage me, knowing Jesus was left for dead, then got up and left the tomb, really encourages me. It is amazing, things that start out so discouraging, can end up encouraging. As Jesus said, “everything is possible with God”. He has, is, and will give me so much. What does Jesus want from me? He wants me to love Him, trust Him, and obey Him. One of the things He wants me to do is, encourage others.
Lord, I don’t know how much longer You want me here, but until You take me home, bring em on, I love encouraging people for You.
