I can’t sing well, but I really love songs and music. This is a favorite: “Sing the wondrous love of Jesus; Sing His mercy and His grace, In the mansions, bright and blessed, He’ll prepare for us a place. When we all get to heaven, What a day of rejoicing that will be! When we all see Jesus, We’ll sing and shout the victory.”
I am so looking forward to Heaven because I will be free of pain. No more worries, or sorrows, no more crying. Then, I realized that I am missing the main reason for rejoicing in Heaven. I will get to see Jesus! I will look Him fully in the face. I will fall at His feet to worship Him.
This world is not my home! I John 2:15 tells us: “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” It is easy to get involved in the world. We have to live our lives in the world that God has given us. We must not, though, “love” the life of the world so much that we forget that we don’t belong here. We were created for God. Heaven is our eternal home.
We need to live for Jesus in this world. But, Oh, how I am longing for the day when I will get to Heaven.
I like this song by Dottie Rambo:
THE SKY SHALL UNFOLD PREPARING HIS ENTRANCE
THE STARS SHALL APPLAUD HIM WITH THUNDERS OF PRAISE
THE SWEET LIGHT IN HIS EYES SHALL ENHANCE THOSE AWAITING
AND WE SHALL BEHOLD HIM THEN FACE TO FACE.
O, WE SHALL BEHOLD HIM FACE TO FACE IN ALL OF HIS GLORY
O, WE SHALL BEHOLD HIM YES, WE SHALL BEHOLD HIM
YES, WE SHALL BEHOLD HIM FACE TO FACE, OUR SAVIOR AND LORD.
