The News is often negative and can be far from what most Christians want to hear. What should our attitude be?
Yes, I’m concerned for the society that my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren face today. I’m concerned for a nation that seems to have lost its direction, makes poor choices and must answer to the one and only God for its sin. I’m concerned for the Church that drifts more and more rapidly away from respect for and dedication to God’s Holy Word.
Yet, I choose to be optimistic, despite my frustrations.
God still loves me. John 3:16 tells me so. Jesus died for my sins and for everyone who responds to His call. His love is unconditional, uncompromising and unwavering. God’s love is all abiding, it never fails.
Philippians 4 has words to direct each Christian today and through this year. Verse 4 and 5 say: “Rejoice in the Lord always, again I will say rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at handâ€.
Let us witness to others about God’s Love; starting with our families and neighbors. (We are to love our neighbors as ourselves.) Rejoice for we have today and each day He gives us to witness for Him. We can “Tell the old, old story!
