John 17:5 (KJV)

And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. John 1:1-2 (KJV) This verse from the beginning of the book of John places Jesus in heaven with the Father, proving his deity and placing him next to God for all eternity except for a short time he was here on earth.

Imagine being in a perfect place, all of your needs provided for never having to worry about anything. Then you are asked to leave to live in an imperfect place, living a perfect life. Most of us if we had a choice would remain were we were comfortable. Never venturing out to follow what we were commanded to do.

Does this sound familiar, we sit in our beautiful building waiting for the world to come to us. If Jesus had waited in heaven for the world to come to him where would we end up for eternity?

Dear Jesus:

I thank you for following your fathers will. Entering this sin filled world so that I may be saved from an eternity of separation from God. Give me the courage to step out of my place of comfort and proclaim your name to the entire world.

In Jesus name I pray amen.
