John 17:2 (KJV)Â
As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
One of the ways Jesus is able to glorify the father is by giving eternal life to as many as the father gives to him. Jesus explains this best in John 6:44 “No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day”.
As Christians we should know we cannot save anyone. There has to be a softening of the heart. No matter how well the gospel is presented if the heart is not softened the person will not be saved.
As I sat in my office one Monday morning a friend of mine brought in a young man who wanted to talk to me. We spoke for a few minutes and I asked the all important question. Do you know where you will be when you die? He was not sure so I gave a perfect Gospel presentation. I was so good scholars could have used it to write volumes on the subject. As I proudly finished I asked if he had would like to make a decision. He said It was getting late and he was hungry so he got up and left. Everything was there except a softened heart. I could do nothing under my own power. The power of God is always required.
Each time a person is saved God is glorified by His son who truly is in control of all flesh.
Give me the opportunity to present when a person is drawn to you. So I can see the transformation from lost to saved and be able to rejoice as you are glorified.
In Jesus name I pray Amen
The Church was in revival that week and the young man came back that evening and was gloriously saved. Â
