On this special day I feel it is important to speak about the men who have served our country trying to preserve our freedoms. Most of these men have served with honor thinking they were protecting a way of life that was unique in the entire world. For most of the history of the United States they were correct and for their honorable service they need to be commended. They fought for freedoms that near and dear to each of us.
The definite problem is that they never shirked their duty they never left or defamed their country. Their country has left them. Some will say this is a definite political statement and has no place in a set of devotions. Yet I feel it does for we are dealing with prayer. We need to prayerfully look at our country and make a decision do we go quietly losing all or do we stand boldly for what we believe in. Not an earthly nation but an eternal heaven. Men have fought for this principle and we need to continue this fight. Â
Empower with a boldness to stand up for what is right. The courage to be able to proclaim the Gospel no matter how it is received. Lord place me in the army of God wearing the full armor that you have made available to myself and all Christians. Always reminding me where it was said “as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
In Jesus name I pray amen
