Growing Old

I have been young and now I am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging for bread. Psalm 37:25

A famous TV personality, Art Linkletter, once said “Growing old isn’t for wimps” and it’s true. The body grows old, we have pain and we can’t do all the things we want to do, but, old age doesn’t have to mean the end of a joyful life. We can survive if we have a strong faith and trust in God. It is a time when we can call on Yehovah Shammah (The Lord my companion) and enjoy an intimate relation with Him. A gospel singer sings a song where God says, “Even tho your growing old, I hope you understand, you will always be a child in my mind.” Spend much time in prayer and reading your Bible.

  1. Leberta, you are absolutely correct, God gives us that are growing older this time to sit alone with Jesus to shower upon Him our love, worship and prayers, and with our yielded hearts He will give us a work for Him that will encourage the hearts of those that are still laboring for God’s glory and purpose. Every day Jesus fills my life with many spiritual blessings and joy!! We seniors are abundantly blessed and to God be all glory. Thank you Lee for sharing your heart!!
