Vitamins are very important to good health. Most people are taking many vitamins of some kind every day. Some are big ones and some small. We are concerned that we have good health for no one wants to be sick. There are many vitamins for all kinds of ailments and deficiencies. B vitamins, of which there are many different ones, are especially important. They give us energy and help with anemia and blood disorders. B vitamins are water soluble and need to be replenished.
The Bible gives us some vitamins that will make us spiritually healthy. They are called “BE”. God tells us what we need to make us spiritually healthy to serve Him and to be a testimony for Him. They too, like the B vitamins, need to be replenished. Is it possible we are more concerned with our physical health than our spiritual?
Our first vitamin we will talk about is “BE Submissive”
James 4:7 “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
Submit means to give in. We are to “give in” to God. We have a tendency to fight against submission as a sign of weakness. We are told to stand up for ourselves and fight like a man. God says “submit” to Me. He knows best. He will lead us. Are we willing to give to Him ourselves? Would life have fewer difficulties, many of our own making, if we submitted to God each day? Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Submission is a tough pill to swallow, but the benefits outweigh the difficulties of swallowing this one. Our verse says if we submit to God first, then, resist the devil, and he will flee from us. But wait, Ephesians 5:21-24, says we are to submit to one another out of reverence to Christ. Also wives are to submit to their husbands and the church submits to Christ. God has put a lot of emphasis on submission. It must be very important.
Let us not forget to take our “be submissive” vitamin today.
