“Be ready”

I Peter 3:15 “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.”

No matter where we are going or what we are going to do, there has to be a “get ready” time.  Working on a project takes getting ready with tools, plans and other necessities.  Going somewhere means washing and dressing accordingly.  We are always getting ready for something.

The Bible says we are to be ready for every good work, ready to minister to others, ready for the Lord’s coming, ready to distribute to others, ready to show hospitality, ready to help and so many other things.  Our verse tells us to be ready to give an answer to those who ask about our hope.  Are we ready to share our testimony of how God brought us to salvation?  That is a big READY.  Ready to witness for Jesus.  Opportunities come when we least expect it.  Are we ready?  Let’s ask God to help us “be ready” and then wait for the opportunity to come.  It will come, because there are so many who have not heard about Jesus.  From children to seniors, they need to know and we need to be ready to tell them.  How many more will hear the message of salvation if we are ready to give an answer.  What are we waiting for, let’s be ready at all times.

This is the last day of the month and thus the last “spiritual vitamin” we will be discussing.  But there are many more in the Bible.  The challenge is to find some more and make your own devotions.  If we will apply these vitamins, we will be helping ourselves spiritually to live a more Christ-like life and love and enjoy Him forever.
