“Be cleansed”

I John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Good vitamin to take every evening and even throughout the day.  When the conviction comes, confess the sin and be cleansed.  Earlier verses in this chapter of I John shows us that walking in darkness is not having fellowship with God because in Him is no darkness.  So, if we have fellowship with Him, we must walk in the light.  The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin and darkness.   The Holy Spirit is faithful to convict us of sin.  If we say we do not have sin, we lie and do not the truth.  With the confession comes the cleansing and then the fellowship is restored.

One pastor put it very plainly when he said, “Keep short accounts with God.”  Don’t let sin build up in our lives.  We are aware that words or actions can break our fellowship and relationship with others.  So, too, we can break our fellowship with the Savior when we act against His will.  When we disobey His calling and leading.

The verse often referred to as the revival verse in 2 Chronicles 7:14:  “If my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS,  then will I hear from heaven and will FORGIVE THEIR SINS and will heal their land.”  Must turn from sin, be cleansed and then revival comes and fellowship is restored

When a glass is filled with sweet tea and it is jostled or bumped, what spills out?  Why, sweet tea, of course.  When we are bumped or jostled, what spills out?  Do we need to confess and be cleansed?  We need this vitamin quite often.
