“Be born-again”

John 3:7 “Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.”

The very first vitamin we must take before all the others will have any effect in our lives.  Without this new birth we have not even begun to need the others.  Notice the word “must”.  We must be born again.  We must by faith believe Jesus took our judgment for sin in His own body on the cross.  He died that we might live.  He provided salvation from eternal death for each of us.  The most well-known verse in the Bible is John 3:16.  “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Notice the word “so”; God SO loved each of us that there is no word to measure His love.  Each of our names can be inserted for “world”.  God loved each of us immeasurably that He gave His Son for us.  He punished Him for all our sin.   Our part is but to believe and receive this gift of eternal life.

John 1:12 tells us when we receive Jesus as our Savior we become sons of God.  Have you received Jesus as your Savior?  He is the only way to heaven.

A Christian was witnessing to a non-believer that he needed to believe and receive Jesus as his Savior.  After some discussion, the non-believer said he was not convinced there was any judgment coming.  The believer said, “Well, if you are right, then I have just wasted my life but if I am right, where does that leave you.”
