“Be a finisher”

2 Timothy 4:7  “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:”

Hebrews 12:2 “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith…”

Paul said he finished the course God gave him.  Jesus finished His work He came to do.  Solomon finished building the temple.  Exodus says Moses finished the work of the tabernacle.  I Chronicles, Hiram finished the work he was asked to do.  Paul talks about Titus finishing the work he began with the Corinthians.  Even in creation God finished His work.

Remember as a child how our parents told us to finish our chores before we went out to play.  The boss tells us to finish our assignment.  To finish is to complete the task.  Each of us has a task to do for God.  We are required to finish that task.  Perhaps it is more than one task.  No matter, we need to finish it.

An elementary teacher wrote in a child’s autograph book:  “All that you do, do with your might. Things done by halves are never done right.”

God put each Christian in the body of Christ as it pleased Him.  He gave us each spiritual gifts, talents and abilities, in order to do what He asked of us.  Have we finished His plan.  Have we stuck to it?  Don’t leave God’s work undone.  Let’s put our shoulder into the work and be determined to finish our course.  Want to hear a “well done” someday.  Then we must finish our job just as God has asked us.  Keep yielding to Him and let Him perform His will is us.  God says, “I know the plans I have for you”..  Will we allow Him to bring those plans to fruition?  Will there be glory to God because we will have finished our course.

Good vitamin to help us remember to finish all God has given us to do.
