There is a Credit Card commercial that says: “Don’t leave home without it.â€Â I wonder if I couldn’t say the same thing about going anywhere or trying to do anything without Jesus. He is all that I need and with Him, I have everything!
I am reminded of the Southern Gospel song that says, “I can’t even walk without Him holding my hand.†When I try to do something on my own, I really get into trouble.Â
In John 15: 4-5, Jesus tells us : “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.â€
When I try to witness or do any good thing for the cause of Christ, I will fail unless I let Jesus guide me and help me. When I find myself in a desert in my Spiritual life, I always check my attitude. Every time I try to “fix†things myself instead of allowing the Holy Spirit to take control, I will come up empty. Usually, I have gone off by myself without Jesus. Dr. Henry Blackaby wrote in his book, “Experiencing God: “Find where God is working, then go there.â€Â
Remember, God and you make a majority. Please don’t attempt to leave home without Him.
I like this gospel song written by Mylon R. Lefevre:
Without Him I could do nothing,
Without Him, I’d surely fail,
Without Him, I would be drifting
Like a ship without a sail.
Jesus, O Jesus
Do you know Him today
Do not turn Him away
O Jesus, O Jesus
Without Him, how lost I would be!
