“So, So”…..”I’m getting by”…..”Not too well”….
Here we are, over a month since we made those New Year’s resolutions. (IF we made any.)
It is not too late to make an important resolution: READ YOUR BIBLE DAILY! Here are some reasons to read your Bible. Then, you may be able to say, “I’m doing very well, thank you”.
A – Psalm 119.9: “How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your Word.”
Knowing and heeding God’s Word requires a good knowledge of what the Bible says. Let’s resolve to know and follow God’s Word in all our daily activities. (I know it says “young man” but surely it applies to male or female of any age.)
B – II Thessalonians 3:3: “But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.” I Corinthians 10:13: “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; But God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”
The Apostle Paul, near the end of his letter to the church at Philippi gave many instructions including the one above. This is how we need to think and work with our fellow Christians. We need to meditate on these things and live that way toward our brothers and sisters in Christ. We must look for these attributes in their lives and commend or compliment them for their practice of the Word of God.
How will you do the rest of the new year?
