James 5:1-6 (KJV)   “Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten. Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days. Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth. Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter. Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you.”
James is not condemning all men who have money but the men who hoard and refuse to share what they have. Who have made large profits by defrauding others not paying them what they deserve. I feel that Paul says it best in 1Timothy 6: 10 Love of money is the root of all evil.
Every one who lays up treasure for the last days making sure they have the most will end up with nothing. “For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out” (1 Tim 6:7)
Some will say I have described the rich men of the world. Men who will do anything to gain what they want. Unfortunately we have men in the church who act the same way. They too will be consumed by the lust. God will hear the cries and prayers of the afflicted and each of the afflicters will be judged not by man but By God himself.
So as Christian we should help our brothers who have less than we do. For God will provide everything we need. We need to look to God for our needs and not rely on what we can save and hoard.
