James 4:7-10 (KJV) “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.”
Step three says that we must be enduring, and deeply and mournfully concerned. In this step we must be prepared to look for temptations and when we are being tempted we must stop what we are doing and seriously look at our actions.
If we continue to stand in the way of temptation and just accept them we are wrong and this will open the door to desire and sin. Christians need to be ever vigilant and watch their actions continuously. This does mean we cannot have fun and enjoy life. Our joy comes from the Lord and not the world. So when we are tempted by the world we need to stop, look at the circumstance and not walk but run back to have a closer walk with our Lord.
