James 4:1-6 (KJV)  “From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.”
Can all problems of this fallen world be summed up in one word? The answer is a resounding yes. Very simply mans desire to have it all, to win by having the most toys, has caused all of our problems.
The fact that it is our desires and lust that cause our problems can be traced back to the original sin. Adam and Eve wanted to be like God and have the knowledge of good and evil. This desire is what allowed sin and death into the world.
Today the world still desires and takes whatever it wants not looking to God for anything. Saying there is no God so I can do whatever I want. No wonder we need to be not of the world looking to God for the things we need.
If we are of the world we cannot be with God. Man can only serve one master. Every true Christian will choose to Follow God and not be of the world. This will not be easy in the near future as we become more hated and persecuted for our beliefs. Yet we will survive because of the grace of God. We need to keep this truth in our heart remembering to always serve one master.
