Ephesians 3:16-19 â€œI pray that out of His glorious riches, He may strengthen you with the power through his Spirit in your inner being so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you being rooted and established in love may have power together with all the saints (believers) to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ and to know this love which surpasses all knowledge, that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.â€ (NIV)
Â As the author of this book, Paul is relating how good it is to know that the love from God is with us. It might be wise for us to understand to always praise and thank the Lord in our prayers for all He does for us, for the blessings he bestows on us and to pray according to His will. God is not a vending machine that cranks out our prayer requests on demand. He answers the prayers of believers. But not always the way we would expect. Sometimes He answers ‘yes’ sometimes He says ‘no’ and sometimes He says ‘later’ but, He always hears our prayers and answers them in a way that is in our best interest, on His timing, not ours.
This is one of the mysteries of the Bible. How does God hear millions of prayers at the same time? Do you ever get a busy signal when you pray or â€œPlease leave a message after the tone?â€ God does not reveal all things to us. His mind is beyond our comprehension, but we believe in the power of prayer because the Bible tells us it is true. â€œNow this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know He hears us, we have the petitions that we have asked for.â€ 1John 5:14 &15 (NIV)
Prayer is a partnership with faith and trust. It is by faith that we go boldly before God with our prayers and it is by trust that we know He hears them. â€œLet us approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.â€ Hebrews 4:16 (NIV)
Â Why does He answer our prayers? Because He loves us and when He answers our prayers the Father is glorified.
