Destiny

Common questions we hear from people today are: What is my destiny, What will my future bring? What is my purpose in life? There was a song sung by Doris Day a many years ago called “Que’ Sera, Sera” It went “Que’ Sera, Sera, whatever will be will be, the future’s not ours to see, whatever will be will be.” There must be a million words in a thousand books written on this very sad commentary on life. But there are only nine words that really matter. Jesus said them “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.”(John 14:6 NIV) The questions can be answered in a blink of an eye by a born again Christian. My destiny was sealed when I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior.

I know my future is in heaven, where I will find peace and contentment with everlasting life with my Lord. My purpose in life is to love and obey my dear Jesus. The best part of my destiny is that I don’t have to wait. The time I have left here is also determined by my faith and commitment to God. Every day I have the assurance that God loves me and is watching over me as any father watches over the child he loves. I feel safe and contented and I feel loved. Today is just an inadequate foreshadowing of my destiny.

The first step to having what I have is to ask the Lord Jesus to come into his/her life because he is “The Way, the Truth and the Life.”
