“Freedom to Serve”

“For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.” Galatians 5:13

When we view the Lord as a loving savior instead of a rule giving dictator our Christian walk takes on a completely different outlook.  We no longer concentrate on the rules but the mission.  We stop worrying about, “Did I do enough good to outweigh my sin?”  We start to move from our failures to our service for the Lord.  We start seeing the world through Jesus’ eyes.  We start seeing people the way God sees them.

Our reason to keep from sinning is no longer based on the rules but the service.  We no longer lie because it hurts other people, not just because we are told it is bad.  It is not love if we hurt others by our sin.  We try not to sin because it hurts our mission to spread the Gospel.  It is hard to share Jesus with them if we have lied and cheated them.  Let us not use our freedom from the law to sin but to serve and love people so they can see Jesus through us.
